World Book Day 2021 – 4th March

Who hasn’t delved into a good book this lockdown???! Well, its World Book Day 2021 on 4th March, so what better way to celebrate the wonder of books than to host a competition and series of activities! That’s exactly what we’re doing 🙂

Get involved – enter our competition!!

Calling all budding authors and artists, book-lovers and creatives! Launching our World Book Day 2021 competition for under 18’s! We want you to either create your favorite book character or scene from a book, or write a short story of 500 words or less. There are 4 age categories, 0-3, 4-7, 8-12 and 13+.

0-3 and 4-7 ages – we want you to create your favorite character/scene from a book (or use the colouring-in sheets found to the right here).

8-12 and 13+ ages – we want you to write a short story of 500 words or less.

Each category will have a winner and runner up, judged by a local author and FCS representatives. Prizes will be awarded in each category. Enter via this online form. Competition closes on Sunday 7th March. Entry rules and conditions can be found here:

Featuring….Lynda M Stewart: B.Ed (Hons)

“I live in Dorset with my husband, two children and two pet guinea pigs.

I am a qualified Primary School Teacher and I have been teaching KS1 children for the past 25 years.

During that time, I have read hundreds of wonderful stories and I know how much children of all ages, enjoy listening to them.

Well…it has always been my dream to write and publish my own children’s book…so here it is! …I hope you enjoy it…..I have lots of other exciting ideas for books too…so please visit again for new book releases in the future!”

Lynda is kindly donating books for some or our prizes, and, most importantly, is donating books for deserving children in our area this World Book Day – thank you Lynda! We will be distributing the books around the 4th March.
